Global Week to Act for Sustainable
Development Goals 2022

Take action now and join the Global Week to Act for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2022, which takes place from 16-25 September.
The world is facing many global challenges: the rise of inequality, the continuing effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, the increasingly obvious consequences of climate change. However, the biggest challenge in Eastern Europe is the Russian aggression against Ukraine, which has resulted in civilian casualties, forced migration and displacement, the demolition of infrastructure and entire cities, the destruction of agricultural land and environmental pollution. The effects of the war are felt throughout the region, but also globally, and are currently the biggest obstacle on the road to sustainable development.

But global challenges can only be solved with joint efforts.

That’s why we invite you to be part of the Global Week to Act4SDGs, a global movement to show leaders that people all around the world want a just, peaceful and green world, and that they are ready to stand up for their vision. The Action Week brings people together to take individual and collective action against war, inequality and climate change and to achieve the SDGs until 2030. Join the movement and #FlipTheScript with your own action for Climate, Justice and Peace!
The three main directions for action are:
Raise awareness of the SDGs and start an (online) campaign
Communicate
Raise your voice and hold leaders to account for pursuing the 2030 Agenda
Advocate
Organise an (online) event and mobilise your community to take direct action for the Goals
Activate
Apply now with your idea to take action for the SDGs with an online campaign or a local event and receive a microgrant up to 750 EUR. The deadline for submitting your idea is August 21st.
Applications closed
Who can participate?
Organisations and individuals from all sectors of civil society from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine can apply for a microgrant and contribute to the Global Week to Act4SDGs.
In these challenging times civil society should become a bridge between divided societies. Please refer to our position on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine before applying with your idea. We rely on the solidarity and openness of civil society, activists and social entrepreneurs no matter from which country they are from and believe that SDGs unite us all for a just, peaceful and green world! We hope if you are applying for this grant you also share our values!
How can you take action?
We can support both local events and online activities that promote the implementation of one or more SDGs. Your actions can address any topic related to the SDGs, such as running a series of online trainings on inclusion of people with disabilities, organising a community festival to promote sustainable consumption, or designing a tour guide about your city and human rights. Projects dealing with the consequences of war on society, cities and the environment can also be supported. Furthermore, we endorse activities and articles related to monitoring the implementation of one or several SDGs in your community, city or region. Learn more about monitoring and reporting here.
How can you apply?
Submit your idea until August 21st, 18:00 Minsk, Chisinau, Moscow, Kyiv time / 19:00 Yerevan, Baku, Tbilisi time. The best ideas will be invited to be presented on August 30th.
