What can Civil Society do for the Sustainable Development Goals?

Online presentation of tools and best practices

6 October 2022
14:00 - 15:00 CET, Zoom
The implementation period of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is approaching
its halfway mark. During this time, many civil society activists have gained a lot of experience in working on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Civic actors were involved in the monitoring and reporting of the implementation of the SDGs, in building networks, awareness raising and advocacy for the Goals. But which tools and practices can civil society use and which challenges have they encountered?

Coalition for Sustainable Development of Russia, SDG Watch Europe and Action for Sustainable Development are inviting you to the co-hosted event “Learning from the 2022 VNRs & People's Scorecards - Europe & Central Asia” to learn about experiences and best practices from civil society working with the Goals.

Action for Sustainable Development will launch the People’s Scorecard 2022 report which gathers views from 20 civil society coalitions from around the world who - based on the People’s Scorecard - reflect on the progress and challenges on SDG implementation in their countries.

Coalition for Sustainable Development of Russia and SDG Watch Europe will present the handbook “Approaching the 2030 Agenda midterm: What Civil Society can do for the Sustainable Development Goals” developed in cooperation with civic actors in Western and Eastern Europe. With examples from the European Union and Russia, the handbook will showcase how civil society can contribute to the monitoring, raising awareness and advocating for the Goals.
